“It is good neither to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is made weak.” Romans 14:21 “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6 “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 More

Why is Christmas controversial? Last year Wal-Mart told its employees not to say "Merry Christmas!" to customers because it might offend someone. Political correctness can run amuck! This year Wal-Mart caved in to the vast majority of Americans who are NOT offended and will allow Wal-Mart employees to say "Merry Christmas." More

This is the week Americans will vote in mid-term national elections and in local and state elections across America. Who did you vote for? What did you vote for? I surely hope you voted FOR the the Marriage Family Amendment which affirmed that marriage in Tennessee shall only be recognized as union between a man and a woman. More

I wish to be a “Voice” and leave a legacy for the greatness of the name “Baptist.” The book of Proverbs twice tells us, “Remove not the ancient landmark.” Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.” The name Baptist is a “good name” and “an ancient landmark.” It ought not to be removed. The first two parts of the equation went easy enough. Now when it came time to pick out the fish I held Rachel up to the top row of fish tanks at Wal-Mart to chose her new fish. See the top row is where all the cheap fish are. I asked if she liked any fish in the first tank… More

Yesterday was our High Attendance Sunday for First Baptist and we also had a lunch for single adults & college students. You might ask, “Why do we do that?” Well, simply put, we want to reach people for Jesus. I am amazed at everything in life that becomes a priority to people or even becomes “their god.” More

Well, it was a wonderful Lord's Day yesterday. The spirit was warm though the Fall air was cool. The music in all the services was uplifting and worshipful. Freddy T and I opened our Bibles and preached the Word the best we could with the help of the Holy Spirit. We pray that lives were touched and eternity affected. We look forward to next Lord's Day and High Attendance Day in Sunday School and seeing lives touched by the Word as faithful teachers lead their classes. "Deacons or Elders? What is the Biblical Model?"

The good thing about the current discussion/ debate in Baptist Church life over "deacons and elders" is that this issue does not affect our salvation! :) :) More

Our Vision...

At First Baptist Clarksville we desire to know Christ through the worship of God, the teaching of the Bible, and the fellowship of believers, so that through the power of the Holy Spirit, we may be like Jesus Christ and make Him known to others, for the glory of God.
